Downtown Chicago Hotels
Downtown Chicago hotels offer convenient access to some of Chicago’s most famous landmarks, including: stunning architecture; world renowned museums, and beautifully lush parks. Each year millions of visitors marvel at the architecture of some of the city’s most famous buildings, including the Sears Tower and the Tiffany glass dome of Preston Bradley Hall. Chicago is rich in cultural museums housing exhibits in history, science and industry, natural elements, and contemporary art. The city has many outdoor spaces for enjoyment such as the waterfront pier, Grant Park, Lincoln Park, over two dozen beaches, and the Cook County Preserve which house the city’s zoo and botanical garden.
Thousands traveled to the city in the fall of 2009, staying in downtown Chicago hotels, to witness history being made as Barack Obama became the first African American to be elected President of the United States. The city is no stranger to the political limelight, as Chicago is closely tied to Abraham Lincoln. Unfortunately, the places where Lincoln resided and worked while in Chicago were destroyed in the 1871 Great Fire, however monuments and other testaments abound throughout the city. Chicago offers tourists the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of greatness.
