Being in an accessible convenient location is more important than the specifics of the hotel. If paying a tiny bit more is required to be in the middle of things, I would. Think of all the money you will save on cab fare! Check out UpTake for user reviewed/ranked lists of hotels for Chicago...you can look by amenities, price, locations, etc. You can also check it out for things to do there. Have agreat trip! I am envious that you are going to Chicago...it is on my list of places to go. If you are there late June/early July be sure and check out "Taste of Chicago". Hope this helps!
